This is the TaoTronics TT-SK03 Speaker, which is a compact, durable and water resistant Bluetooth speaker. It offers up to 6 hours of battery life, an excellent sound quality and is suitable for use in the shower.
Design
The TaoTronics TT-SK03 Bluetooth Shower Speaker looks very stylish and neat. With its black rubberised finish, which looks and feels very high quality. The rubberised finish on this speaker is very easy to grip, even if you have wet hands. The TaoTronics TT-SK03 Bluetooth Speaker is also fairly small and compact, measuring in at 8.5cm x 8.5cm x 6.00mm (H x W x D), so you can easily and discreetly attach it to any wall. Its also fairly lightweight, meaning you can take it anywhere with you if needed. This waterproof speaker feels very well made and sturdy, meaning it should last for many years. On the front of this speaker, you will find 5 buttons. Including the power button, play/pause button, skip forward (also doubles up as volume up button), skip backwards (also doubles up as volume down button) and a phone button for answering calls. Unfortunately we did find the buttons a little hard to read at times. Also on the front of this speaker, you will also find a LED light, which flashes to indicate the device is on, in pairing mode or charging. On the back of the speaker, you will find a large suction cup, which you use to stick the speaker against your wall.
Features
The TaoTronics TT-SK03 Shower Speaker is Bluetooth compatible, and has a very simple pairing process. Meaning you should be able to connect this speaker to almost any Bluetooth compatible device. Unfortunately Bluetooth is the only way you can connect to this speaker. So if your device does not have Bluetooth built in, then you will not be able to use this speaker. The TaoTronics TT-SK03 is a water resistant speaker, it’s not waterproof. So it can handle the odd splashes and steam whilst in the shower or bath. However it’s not going to be able to handle being submerged into the water. As mentioned earlier, the TaoTronics TT-SK03 Shower Speaker has a simple Bluetooth pairing process. Simply hold down the middle button (power button) for about 3 seconds until you hear a short tune. You will then notice a Blue LED light flashing rapidly, indicating that the device is in pairing mode. Then on your compatible Bluetooth device, go into your Bluetooth settings and search for the speaker. Once you select the TaoTronics Bluetooth speaker, they should automatically pair together in a matter of seconds. You will know whether your devices are paired together, as you will hear another tune and then the Blue LED light will stop flashing rapidly. It’s also worth noting that after you’ve paired this speaker with your Bluetooth-enabled device once. It will remember that device and automatically pair with it every time you turn the speaker on. The TaoTronics TT-SK03 Shower Speaker also has a built-in rechargeable battery. Which the manufacturers say can give you up to 5-6 hours of playback (depending on volume levels). Another brilliant feature included with this speaker is that you can take hands-free calls. As this speaker has a built in microphone. Which allows you to answer and end incoming calls. Just simply press the phone button on the front to answer calls whilst in the bath or shower. Like most TaoTronic products, you get a 12-month warranty included. Which gives you confidence in the product, and company you have purchased this device from.
Performance
The TaoTronics TT-SK03 Shower Speaker came very well packaged, and everything included inside the box seems very high quality. In the box, you get the TaoTronics TT-SK03 speaker, a 5-Volt USB charging cable, and an instruction manual. The included instruction manual is well written and covers all the necessary information, including a useful FAQ. The TaoTronics TT-SK03 Shower Speaker should be able to connect to almost any Bluetooth-enabled device very quickly, and without any issues. We connected this speaker to our iPhone and iPad. And both of these devices found this speaker straight away, and connected to it instantly, without any issues. The suction cup on the back of the speaker is very strong and sturdy. So far our speaker has not fallen off our tiles, or slipped down the wall. The sound quality is brilliant on this little speaker. As the sound quality is well balanced, clear, with a very good bass and treble. It is able to handle a range of different songs. Also this speaker can go surprisingly loud, we were very pleased with how loud this speaker could actually go. It could easily fill an average sized bathroom full with music. On the front of the speaker, you will find all the buttons you need to control your speaker. Which means that you can leave your phone in a separate room, and can still control your music directly from the speaker. All the buttons of this speaker are very responsive. For example, if I press the next button, it goes to the next song almost immediately. The TaoTronics TT-SK03 Shower Speaker takes around two hours to fully charge. Then you should get up to 6 hours of playback depending on volume levels. With the volume set to medium, we got up to 5.5 hours of playback before needing to recharge this device again. The Bluetooth range is also superb. As you can move your Bluetooth-enable device up to 10 metres away from your speaker, and it should not lose connection. And best of all you can take hands-free calls, even whilst in the shower or bath. When you receive an incoming call, the speaker will automatically pause the music whilst you’re on the call. The call quality is crystal clear through the speaker. And other callers reported that they could hear my voice very clearly.
Overall
