This is the TaoTronics TT-SK02 Bluetooth Speaker, which is a highly portable speaker that’s designed to give you an excellent sound quality. In addition, this speaker comes with both Bluetooth and NFC capabilities.
The TaoTronics TT-SK02 Bluetooth Speaker has a very neat and simple design. It comes in black, and has the usual rectangular design, which is seen on many other portable speakers. The overall build quality is exceptional, as this speaker feels very high quality. And feels like it could withstand a good few knocks and drops. The TaoTronics TT-SK02 Bluetooth Speaker is also fairly small and compact. To give you an idea to how small this speaker, it’s about the same size as an average size hand. Meaning you should have absolutely no problems finding space for this speaker in your home.
The TaoTronics TT-SK02 Bluetooth Speaker also weighs just 235g. Making this speaker extremely practical for when you’re on the move. It should also fit perfectly inside any handbag or backpack, allowing you to take this speaker anywhere with you. Unfortunately, this speaker does not come with a carry case though. We personally would have liked a carry case for that bit of extra protection whilst on the move. On the top of the speaker, you will find 3 buttons. Including the volume up (doubles up as next track button), volume down (doubles up as a previous track) and a multifunctional button. You will also find a small “N” logo; this is to let you know where the NFC area is. Then on the back of the speaker, you will find the power switch, a micro-USB port for charging and a 3.5mm audio port for non-Bluetooth devices.
The TaoTronics TT-SK02 Wireless Speaker has a very simple pairing process. You can connect to this speaker by either Bluetooth, NFC (Near Field Communication) or you can plug your device into the 3.5mm audio port. To connect to this speaker by Bluetooth, simply turn the speaker on by the power switch and it should automatically go into pairing mode. You will know this speaker is in pairing mode, as the small Blue LED light on the back will flash. Then on your compatible Bluetooth device, search for this speaker in your Bluetooth settings (it shows up as “TaoTronics TT-SK02” in list devices). Once you select the TaoTronics Bluetooth speaker, they should automatically pair together in a matter of seconds. You will know whether your devices are paired together, as you will hear a short tune and then the Blue LED light will stop flashing rapidly.
Connecting to NFC is equally as easy to do, simply turn the speaker on and then just hold your device over the “N” logo and they should automatically pair together. It’s also worth mentioning that after you’ve paired this speaker with your device once. It will remember that device and automatically pair with it every time you turn the speaker on. If your device does not have Bluetooth or NFC built-in, then you can still use this speaker. Just simply plug in the included 3.5mm audio cable into your devices, it’s as simple as that.
The TaoTronics TT-SK02 Wireless Speaker also has a rechargeable battery, which can run cable-free for up to 10 hours. Meaning you can take this speaker with you anywhere, and then recharge it when you get back home. You can charge this speaker by plugging in the Micro USB cable (included) into your computer or a compatible USB plug. You can also take hands-free calls on this speaker, as there is a built in microphone. To answer or end incoming calls, just simply press the multifunctional button on the top of the speaker. Like most TaoTronic products, you get a 12-month warranty included. Which gives you confidence in the product, and company you have purchased this device from.
The TaoTronics TT-SK02 Wireless Speaker came very well packaged, and everything included inside the box seems very high quality. In the box, you get the TaoTronics TT-SK02 speaker, the charging cable, a 3.5mm audio cable, the battery, and an instruction manual. The included instruction manual is well written and easy to understand, with simple diagrams and text. When you receive the TaoTronics speaker, you have to attach the battery to the speaker. This is very simple to do, as the battery slides perfectly into place, you can even do it with one hand.
The TaoTronics TT-SK02 Wireless Speaker should be able to connect to any Bluetooth or NFC-compatible device very quickly. We tested this speaker to our iPhone 5s and iPad mini for Bluetooth. And both of these devices found this speaker straight away, and connected without any issues. We also tested the NFC on this speaker with a Sony Xperia Z. Again the Sony Xperia Z had absolutely no problems connecting to this speaker. Like we mentioned before, if you do not have a Bluetooth or NFC enabled device, then you can just simply plug your device into the 3.5mm audio port located at the back.
The sound quality is brilliant on this speaker. As it delivers a very clear, well balanced sound with a very good bass and treble. It should be able to please most music lovers. In addition, this speaker can go reasonably loud, and should be able to fill a small to medium sized room full of music. However just a word of warning, when you pair this TaoTronics speaker to your phone, any sound coming out of your phone will come through on the speaker. When pressing buttons on the speaker, there is a very slight delay. For example when I press the next button, there is a 2 second delay in changing to the next song.
The TaoTronics TT-SK02 Wireless Speaker takes around three hours to fully charge. However you can still use this speaker whilst it’s charging. Once fully charged, you should to get up to 10 hours of playback (depending on volume levels). The Bluetooth range is also brilliant. As you can move your device up to 10 metres away from your speaker, and it should not lose connection. As mentioned before, you can also answer and end incoming calls. When you receive an incoming call, the speaker will automatically pause the music whilst you’re on the call. Also when your phone is ringing, the speaker reads out the number calling you, which is handy I suppose. We tested this feature, and although people voices sounded crystal clear through the speaker. Other callers mentioned that my voice sounded very quiet, even if I was very close to the speaker.
Overall if you’re looking for a Bluetooth speaker that’s easy to use, looks great and has a brilliant sound quality. Then the TaoTronics TT-SK02 Wireless Speaker should be near the top of your list. Click here to buy from Amazon
