This is the Denver DVH-1244 Multi Region DVD Player, which is ideal for those who need a straightforward player to enjoy their favourite multi-regional DVD collection.

Design

The Denver DVH-1244 DVD player is not the most attractive looking DVD player on the market. However if you’re not too fussed about the design, then this is an excellent player. In addition, both the DVD Player and remote feel very flimsy and not the best quality. The Denver DVH-1244 DVD player has a very small and compact design so it would be an ideal DVD player for any room where space is tight. Furthermore, the Denver DVH-1244 DVD player feels incredibly light. As it weighs just 1.3 Kg so it can easily be moved around your home. On the front of this device, there is the disc tray, four buttons (Power, Play/Pause, Stop and Eject Disc), and one USB port. The disc tray does feel quite flimsy; so do be careful when putting DVD’s into the tray. On the back, there is the usual amount of sockets seen on budget DVD players. There is a 1 SCART, 1 HDMI port, 1 optical output jack and the power cord jack. The supplied remote control is a good size and comfortable to hold. However it feels very cheaply made and flimsy to hold.

Features

The Denver DVH-1244 DVD player can upscale your standard DVD’s to near Full-HD quality when connected to a HDTV by a HDMI cable. Please note that a HDMI cable is not included with your purchase. Therefore you will need to buy one separately to get full 1080p HD quality. If you are looking for a great and affordable HDMI cable, then we highly recommend the ‘AmazonBasics High-Speed HDMI Cable’ (https://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00NH126Q0/pu0e-21). The Denver DVH-1244 is a multi-regional DVD Player, which means it can play DVD’s from any region. However, It does not support Blu-Ray’s or 3D movies. You can also plug a USB device into the USB port on the front. And play downloaded movies (Xvid and most DivX formats supported) or view your JPEG photos and play MP3 or WMA music tracks.

Performance

The Denver DVH-1244 DVD player works very well and does play DVD’s from other regions. We found it incredibly easy to set up, just simply plug in the power cable and either a SCART (not included) or HDMI cable (not included). And follow the basic on-screen instructions and your ready to go. The Denver DVH-1244 DVD player also comes with a 1-year warranty. So if you experience any problems with this player, please contact the manufacturer. The picture and sound quality is very good for a budget DVD player and it should suit most people’s needs. The only issue we could find with this player is that it is a little noisy when playing movies, so please bare this in mind.
