The Akai A51002 DVD Player is not the most attractive looking player on the market. We think it looks quite retro, not very modern. In addition, the Akai A51002 DVD Player has a very small and compact design. So it would be an ideal player for any room where space is tight. Furthermore, you can have this player horizontally or vertically next to your television. On the front of this device, there is the disc tray, three buttons (Play, Eject, and Stop), and one USB port. The disc tray does feel quite flimsy, so be careful when putting DVD’s into the tray. On the back, there is a SCART port (no HDMI port). The supplied remote control is a good size and comfortable to hold. However it feels very cheaply made.
The Akai A51002 DVD Player is a very basic DVD player, with a few handy features. For example, this DVD player has been region unlocked, which means that you can play DVD’s from any region. In addition, there is a USB port on the front of the device, so you can enjoy your stored music, images, and movies on the big screen. Simply plug in a compatible USB pen, and then you can access all your favourite content. Furthermore, this player can play a wide range of different file formats, including MP3, MP4, and JPEG. Also just so you are aware, this player does not come with a HDMI port. You can only connect this player to your TV by SCART.
The Akai A51002 DVD Player works very well and plays DVD’s from other regions very well. In addition, it is very easy to set up. Just simply plug in the power cable and SCART (not included) and you’re ready to go. The Akai A51002 DVD Player also comes with a 3-year guarantee. Therefore if you experience any problems with this player, please contact the manufacturer. Furthermore, the picture and sound quality is very good for a budget DVD player and it should suit most people’s needs. The Akai A51002 DVD Player plays a couple of different file formats from a USB device very well, including MP3, MP4, and JPEG. The only issue we could find with this player is that it is very noisy when playing movies, so please bare this in mind.
